28. Quick Start Guides
Short, numbered procedures. Each links to the full section for anything not obvious from the steps alone.
Add your first product
- Go to Products → Create.
- Details tab: enter Title (required); Subtitle/Description optional.
- Organize tab: set Type/Collection/Categories/Tags if relevant (all optional today — neither existing product uses them).
- Variants tab: define an Option (e.g. “Size”) and its Values (e.g. “250ml”, “500ml”). One variant row is generated per value.
- Give each variant a SKU and Price.
- Add product metadata:
hsn_code,gst_rate,fssai_number— match the pattern of the existing two products exactly (typos here silently break GST invoicing later). - Upload real images to the Media step; mark one as thumbnail.
- Set Inventory — a real Stock Quantity, not left at 0.
- Save as Draft first, run through the publishing checklist, then flip Status to Published.
Full detail: [Section 3]/03-product-management/, [Section 4]/04-product-variants/.
Add inventory
- Go to Inventory, find the SKU.
- Open Adjust Inventory.
- Enter the new total In Stock number — not the amount you’re adding.
- Save.
- Outside the system: note what changed and why — there’s no built-in reason field.
Full detail: [Section 5]/05-inventory-management/#receiving-new-stock.
Process your first order
- Open the order from Orders.
- Verify Payment status is
captured(or confirm business policy if onlyauthorized). - Verify line items and shipping address.
- Click Fulfill Items — pick Location, Shipping Method, item quantities.
- Once physically shipped, click Mark as Shipped — enter real tracking info (don’t invent a courier name or timeline).
- Once delivered, click Mark as Delivered.
Full detail: [Section 9]/09-order-processing-sop/.
Create a coupon (Promotion)
- Go to Promotions → Create.
- Choose Code-based or Automatic.
- Choose
standardorbuyget, andfixedorpercentage. - Set the discount Value, Allocation, and Target Type.
- Add Rules for any restrictions (minimum spend, specific products, customer group).
- If it needs a date range, create it inside a Campaign instead of standalone.
- Set Status to
draftwhile testing;activeonly once verified against a real cart.
Full detail: [Section 11]/11-coupons-and-discounts/. Do not invent a real discount value — none exist yet; confirm with the business first.
Process a refund
- Open the order → Payment section.
- Click Refund.
- Pick the payment (if more than one), enter the Amount (partial is fine), pick a Refund Reason, add a Note.
- Save — Payment status updates to
refunded/partially_refundedautomatically.
If this is a full cancellation before shipment, use Cancel on the order instead — it refunds automatically as part of the same action. Full detail: [Section 15]/15-refunds-and-returns/.
Perform stock adjustment
Same steps as “Add inventory” above — it’s the same single mechanism for any kind of change (receiving, correcting a miscount, writing off damage). Full detail: [Section 5]/05-inventory-management/#stock-adjustment.
Run a sales report
There is no built-in report. Real steps:
- Go to Orders → Export.
- Apply the date-range/status filters you need first.
- Export to CSV.
- Build the actual report in a spreadsheet.
Full detail: [Section 17]/17-reports/.
